Brief Description of Decision:

To approve in principle the proposals shown on drawing number 126/18/TT736 attached as appendix 2 of the officer’s report for the proposed changes of road layout at junction of B6089 Potter Hill with Coach Road, Greasbrough and the implementation of no waiting at any time parking restrictions and prohibition of “U” turns on B6089 Coach Road/Potter Hill Greasbrough

Reasons for the Decision:

The junction of B6089 Potter Hill with Coach Road, Greasbrough has been identified as a “pinch point” in the highway network. With further anticipated traffic growth from the Bassingthorpe Farm development it has been proposed to replace the existing mini roundabout with a signalised junction.

The proposed changes will provide mitigating actions to enable the local roads to deal with anticipated increase in traffic flow.

The opportunity of carrying out the proposed waorks is also being taken to implement no waiting at any time parking restrictions on Rossiter Road at its junction with Main Street to ensure the safe and free movement of traffic here.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

Not to make the proposed changes. This was not recommended as it would not mitigate the impact of the predicted traffic growth on the junction.
