Specific Delegation:

Strategic Director of Regeneration and Environment Sub-Scheme of Delegation - To promote, consider objections to and implement Traffic Regulation Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Brief Description of Decision:

That the Head of Legal Services makes an order for the implementation of residents parking 9am-4pm with an exemption for non-permit holders max stay 1 hour no return in 3 hours, Mortain Road as shown on drawing No 126/18/TT 734.1

Reasons for the Decision:

Following the rejection by residents of a proposal for no waiting Mon-Fri 9am-1pm on Mortain Road to address concerns about non-residential parking, residents were consulted on a new proposal - residents’ parking Mon-Fri 9am-4pm with an exemption for non-permit holders to park for a maximum stay of either 1 or 2 hours. This proposal was supported with the majority of responses preferring a maximum stay of 1 hour for non-permit holders.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

Residents only parking Mon-Fri 9am-4pm was considered but when residents only parking was previously promoted on Mortain Road, objections were received, and these were upheld. The inclusion of a time limited stay for non-permit holders addresses some concerns raised by residents who previously objected to the proposal for residents parking 9am-4pm Mon-Fri.

Conflicts of interest declared by any Executive Member consulted by the decision maker which relates to the decision:
