Decision:

To temporarily close the cycle-hire centre at Rother Valley Country Park in the off season (2nd December to mid-February)

Reasons for the Decision:

The Water Sports centre at Rother Valley Country Park closes every year from the beginning of December to mid-February. Historically the cycle hire centre has continued to operate during this period.

However, analysis of data for bookings for this period shows very low participation and that the operation is loss making to c £5k through Winter until February half-term.

Closing will enable the site to avoid cost associated with operating the centre too little financial or customer advantage and to redeploy staff into other frontline roles during that period.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

Continue to open through the off-season and operate at a loss of c£5k.
