Appendix 9, Section 4C3, of the Council’s Constitution provides that “The Strategic Director of Adult Care, Housing and Public Health is authorised to discharge executive functions through the commissioning and provision of social services for adults and public health services for the whole population and delivery of housing for the Borough, including: - (4) Strategic Commissioning; (a) Commissioning”. 

Brief Description of Decision:

 

To utilise the available contract extension clause, to extend the end date of the contract for Rotherham Advocacy Service to 31st March 2025.

Reasons for the Decision:

 

 

Independent advocacy services are necessary to meet the Councils statutory requirements.

The Lead Provider model has been successful in terms of offering, streamlined access, continuity for people accessing the service who require various types of advocacy and service capacity is used efficiently.

The current provider of this service is Cloverleaf Advocacy who deliver the service in line with the service specification. The Service holds a stable position in the Rotherham market, delivers high-quality service and is technically competent.

The decision will enable the service to continue to be delivered under the current contract arrangements which are working well.
