Designate, de-designate and amend the boundaries of Local Wildlife Sites and Local Sites for geodiversity interest (including Regionally Important Geological Sites) following recommendations from the relevant Local Sites panels.

Brief Description of Decision:

Addition of two new Local Wildlife Sites (LWS) to the existing LWS Series:

·        LWS 208 Brookfields Park (adjacent to Bolton Road, estimated central point postcode S63 7LL).

·        LWS 202 Pithouse West (adjacent to Waleswood Road, estimated central point postcode S26 5PF).

Reasons for the Decision:

Approval and integration into non-statutory planning designation would contribute towards the robustness of the Local Plan.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

Not designating the new LWS boundaries would mean the Local Site System is not kept up to date. The LWS have been identified and agreed by the expert Local Wildlife Sites Panel as meriting inclusion.
