Brief Description of Decision: |
To dispose of a Civic vehicle which has been used for Civic Engagements undertaken by the Deputy Mayor escorted by a Civic Officer |
|
Reasons for the Decision: |
This is an operational decision based on changes the Civic Protocol which notes that the Mayor and Deputy Mayor do not undertake Civic Engagements at the same time. Due to this one Civic vehicle (Volvo S80 Registration YV04 FJP (2004)) has been identified for disposal. Since 2019 the Volvo has been used approximately 21 times which equates to an average of 3-4 journeys per year. On this basis and due to age of the vehicle it is no longer required by the Service.
Due to the age of the vehicle, there are no direct budget costs for purchase. However, budgeted costs for repairs, maintenance and fuel will no longer be required.
Should any occasions be identified where the Mayor and Deputy Mayor are required to attend a Civic Engagement on the same day arrangements would be made for a hire vehicle to be sourced by the Council’s Fleet Services. However, as this is considered to be an extremely unlikely event no budget has been identified for any hire costs.
