Following Cabinet approval in March 2025, agree final allocations for the Rotherham projects below as part of the UKSPF Skills and Employability South Yorkshire project:

Minute (136) of the Cabinet decision on UKSPF of 17th March 2025 delegates authority to the Assistant Chief Executive, in consultation with the Leader of the Council, to approve final allocations for individual UKSPF projects.

Decision:

Resolve to:

 

Agree the allocation of funding to the following Rotherham projects as part of sub-regional business support programmes:

 

·        Launchpad - £240,257

·        Low Carbon - £200,000

·        Business Productivity - £536,588

 

Total £976,845

Reasons for the Decision:

Within the 17th March report to Cabinet setting out proposals for use of UKSPF in Rotherham in 2025/26, a total of £945,256 was allocated to sub-regional business support, comprising:

 

·        Launchpad - £245,256

·        Low Carbon - £200,000

·        Business Productivity - £500,000

 

As part of the more detailed project costings required to finalise project applications, minor changes have been made to the allocations, which is within budget of the overall programme.

 

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

Alternatives have not been provided. Other than the minor funding changes, the Rotherham projects are in line with the proposals endorsed by Cabinet.
