Minute 8/23

Decision:

The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) have allocated £3m revenue to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council as a ‘Feasibility Fund’. A grant agreement has been signed to accept the funding and the decision is to allocate £200,000 of this fund to support the development and delivery of the Dinnington Capital Regeneration project

Reasons for the Decision:

Allocation of £200,000 of the Feasibility Fund to provide a robust budget and contingency, reflecting the project’s extended programme length.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

The ‘Do nothing’ option was considered and discounted as not increasing the budget to account for an extended project timescale may offer insufficient contingency, thereby jeopardising deliverability and funding.
