Brief Description of Decision:

That the Strategic Director, Regeneration and Environment, in line with Financial and Procurement Procedure Rule Section 58.4 Delegation Arrangements, approves the tender submitted by Geo. Houlton & Sons Ltd on 12^th April 2019 for the construction of a new 2 form entry school at Waverley.

Reasons for the Decision:

As part of the housing development and building programme, at Waverley the provision of a new two form entry primary school is required once the trigger number of houses built is reached.  With this figure now having been reached, the plans for the new two form entry school have been developed, and the tenders issued, with a view to construction commencing in June 2019 and the school opening in September 2020

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

The approved Children and Young Peoples Service (CYPS) Capital Programme 2017-21 (approved at the Council meeting on the 28 February 2018), included a budget of £5.600m for this project, funded via a S106 contribution approved in 2011. The S106 contribution is required as part of the Waverley development, by Harworth Estates.
