Appendix 9 of the Constitution (Responsibility for Functions) – Delegation to the Strategic Director of Finance and Customer Services to determine requests for early release and flexible retirement, in consultation with the relevant Cabinet Member

Brief Description of Decision:



Approval was given to a request for twenty eight compulsory redundancies and an early release on the grounds of efficiency in Adult Care Services.

Reasons for the Decision:



Following a review of the service there had been a significant post reduction.

Details of Alternative Options Considered and Rejected:


Redeployment options had reduced the number of redundancies necessary from 85 employees.  It had not been possible to redeploy all the affected employees.
