Decision:

Powers of delegation to be granted by the Strategic Director Adult Care, Housing and Public Health in relation to approval to commence a 90 day Consultation Exercise regarding a future delivery model for the Rothercare Service.

Reasons for the Decision:

The current Rothercare business model and offer is outdated in terms of service delivery, structure, funding, cost, location, technology and digitalisation.

As such there is a requirement to complete a full service review, redesign, and fully cost a new business model which is based around customer choice and requirements.

The Leader and Chief Executive of RMBC have agreed that a public consultation exercise must be completed prior to submission of the December 2023 cabinet report.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

The purpose of the consultation will be to establish the views and needs of users of the Rothercare Service and of residents of Rotherham boroughwide regarding current service delivery and a future service offer, therefore public consultation is an essential requirement with no alternative options.
