To give direction on the method of calculation of Affordable Rent properties on re-let

 

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

The Government policy statement on affordable rents indicates that providers should have regard to the local market context, including the relevant Local Housing Allowance for the area in which the properties is located when setting affordable rents. 

 

The desktop exercise has concluded that using the affordable rents charged to existing tenants in 2024/25 are within 80% of local market rents for Rotherham.
