Designate, de-designate and amend the boundaries of Local Wildlife Sites and Local Sites for geodiversity interest (including Regionally Important Geological Sites) following recommendations from the relevant Local Sites panels.

Brief Description of Decision:

Addition of three new Regionally Important Geological Sites (RIGS) to the existing RIGS Series:

·       R6 Temple Hill Plantation Quarry

·       R107 Tinsley Marshalling Yard

·       R132 Brook House West Quarry

Reasons for the Decision:

Approval and integration into non-statutory planning designation would contribute towards the robustness of the Local Plan.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

Not designating the new RIGS boundaries would mean the Local Site System is not kept up to date. The RIGS have been identified and agreed by the expert Local Geological Sites Panel as meriting inclusion.
