Decision: |
That the Assistant Director for Property & Facilities Services approves the disposal by agreement of the freehold interest of 12 Dale Road, Herringthorpe in consultation with the Council’s Section 151 Officer and the Cabinet Member for Transport, Jobs, and the Local Economy
|
Reasons for the Decision: |
Under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967, a leasehold property owner has the statutory right to either extend the length of their existing lease or to purchase the freehold title to their property. Given the direct approach from the leaseholder, the only option is to dispose of the freehold interest in the property. The long leaseholder in this instance is exercising their statutory right to purchase the freehold. Approval is sought to dispose of the freehold interest in 12 Dale Road Herringthorpe for £15,280 plus a contribution towards the Councils professional fees
