The decision is taken in line with paragraph 8.4 of the Council’s Financial and Procurement Procedure Rules:

“Strategic Directors and Budget Managers are authorised to incur expenditure in accordance with the estimates that make up the budget and the Capital Programme within their delegated area of control.”

Decision:

The Strategic Director Regeneration and Environment grants approval to go to market to appoint a contractor to deliver the Whiston Brook Flood Alleviation Scheme.

Reasons for the Decision:

To ensure delivery of the scheme can align with the current programme, including progression of the design and landowner negotiations.

To utilise Council Capital funding and potentially external funding via the Environment Agency (if secured).

To ensure compliance with the Council’s Policies around Procurement.
