‘Resolved:

 

That Cabinet:

 

1.    Delegate authority to the Strategic Director for Regeneration and Environment in consultation with S151 Officer and the Leader of the Council to submit Rotherham’s PiP Phase 1 Regeneration Plan in line with the Government’s Pride in Place programme.’

Consultation with Leader and S151 Officer:

 

The Leader and S151 Officer were consulted on the 17th November Plan for Neighbourhoods Cabinet Report, which contained the recommendation to submit Rotherham’s Regeneration Plan. For this Officer Decision, confirmation of their consultation was obtained by email.

 

·       Leader confirmed consultation on 17th of December 2025.

 

·       S151 Officer confirmed consultation on the 6th of January 2026.

To authorise the submission of Rotherham’s regeneration plan to government to draw down grant funding.

Reasons for the Decision:

To authorise the submission of Rotherham’s regeneration plan to government to draw down grant funding. The Plan has been approved by Cabinet and the Neighbourhood Board therefore this decision is likely to be approved.

 

It is recommended that the Council, in partnership with the Neighbourhood Board, submits Rotherham’s PiP Phase 1 Regeneration Plan to Government in November, to bring forward a long-term programme of interventions that will deliver positive outputs for local people.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

The Council could choose not to pursue this grant funding opportunity however, the consultation and area data suggests that the proposed interventions are critical to addressing local need. This option is therefore not recommended.
