Decision:

To award a 5-year contract and appoint Softcat PLC as the Council’s network equipment reseller, including associated professional services, maintenance and licensing, at a value of £1,110,843.66.

Reasons for the Decision:

The recommended option was to undertake a further competition via the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) framework Total Technology Solutions; NOE.0552. The submission from Softcat PLC was evaluated as the 1st placed supplier following evaluation of quality, cost and social value.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

The council considered an above threshold open tender process. However, the availability of a public sector framework provides a more efficient compliant route, hence the open tender option was discounted.
