Brief Description of Decision:

 

 

The Cabinet and Commissioners Decision Making Meeting of 11th June 2018 agreed “That approval be given to implement the (Forge Island) flood defence works”.

 

Having developed a design based upon extensive consultation with other Council Services, land-owners and affected parties, the Council invited tenders for these works via YORtender.

 

Ten tender submissions were received and following tender clarification, due diligence and moderation exercises, Eric Wright Civil Engineering Ltd were deemed to have submitted the most economically advantageous tender response. The total value of the contract is £2,259,693.78.

 

Permission is sought to appoint a successful contractor to implement the flood defence works.

 

Reasons for the Decision:

 

 

To facilitate flood defence works to Forge Island both to facilitate development of the Forge Island site itself and to develop a further section of the wider Rotherham Renaissance Flood Alleviation Scheme, which will eventually connect Rotherham Town Centre and Thrybergh.  

 

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

 

The successful tender was chosen following due diligence and moderation exercises overseen by the Councils Procurement Team to select the most economically advantageous submission.
