Melvyn Clayton, Development Surveyor, submitted an update report with regard to progress made with specific land and property assets identified for potential acquisition.

He also gave a verbal update on negotiations with the owner of Job Lot.  It was hoped that a settlement would be reached very shortly.  Meetings had been held with representatives of the tenants.

Melvyn Clayton, Development Surveyor, submitted an update report with regard to progress made with specific land and property assets identified for potential acquisition.

He reported verbally that the Council had now acquired the Bellows Road development and was still in talks with the owner of Job Lot.  Officers had been out to see the tenants to dispel many of the rumours circulating with meetings set up for the New Year to discuss their requirements to take their businesses forward.

The Compulsory Purchase Order was still progressing and would be confirmed in the next 4-6 weeks.

Discussions were taking place with the developer partner with regard to the new development.

Melvyn Clayton, RIDO, submitted a report on the latest situation with regard to the proposed acquisition of strategic land and property assets in support of the delivery of the Pathfinder Programme and the wider neighbourhood investment programme within the Borough.

Melvyn also gave a verbal update on the current situation with regard to Bellows Road.

(2)  That the proposed acquisition of the land and property assets identified in the report submitted be supported.

(3)  That a further update be submitted to the next meeting.

(4)  That any future proposals for the acquisition of specific land and property be submitted to the Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods for consideration.
