Agenda and minutes

The minutes of the previous meeting of the Licensing Board held on 21^st March, 2012, were considered. 

Resolved: -  That the minutes of the previous meeting be agreed as a correct record for signature by the Chairman.  

The Board considered the submitted report that indicated a request from Mr. Tariq Mehrban, on behalf of the operating company ‘Eurocab 2000 Transport Services’, for an exemption to Condition 6 of the private hire vehicle conditions of licence to facilitate the advertisement of the company name, phone number, website information and other identification on the side, rear and bonnet bodywork of a vehicle, registration YP61 UUO. 

A copy of the proposed advertisements had been submitted for consideration.

Resolved: - That the request to be exempted from Condition 6 of the licensing conditions to facilitate side, rear and bonnet bodywork for the operating company’s vehicle registration YP61 UUO be approved.

The following item is likely to be considered in the absence of the Press and Public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Resolved: -  That the following items be considered in the absence of the press and the public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime). 

The Licensing Board considered a report by the Director of Housing and Neighbourhood Services relating to the hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. S.A.. 

Further to Minute No. Q56, additional information was now available.

Mr S.A. attended the meeting and was interviewed by the Board. 

Resolved: -  That the hackney carriage/private hire licence held by Mr. S.A. continue to be suspended until further information is available to the Licensing Board.

The Licensing Board considered reports by the Director of Housing and Neighbourhood Services relating to the application for the grant of hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. G.M., and the application for grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence and operator’s licence in respect to Mr. S.N.M..

Messrs. G.M. and S.N.M. attended the meeting and were interviewed by the Board. 

Resolved: - (1)  That the application in respect to Mr. G.M. be refused. 

(2)  That the application for a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect to Mr. S.N.M. be approved for a period of three-years, subject to him passing the DSA Driving Test and medical examination.

(3)  That the application for an operator’s licence in respect to Mr. S.N.M. also be approved.
