Minutes:

The minutes of the previous Licensing Board held on 13th June, 2012, were considered.

 

Resolved: -  That the minutes of the previous meeting be agreed as a correct record.

Exclusion of the Press and Public.

 

The following item is likely to be considered in the absence of the Press and Public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Resolved: -  That the following items be considered in the absence of the Press and the Public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and the prevention of crime).

Determination of Licensing Issues - House to House Collections.

Minutes:

Consideration was given to the report submitted by the Senior Licensing Officer concerning the following applications for the grant of a licence to carry out house to house collections: -

Resolved: - That the application as received be approved. 

10.

Applications for the Grant of Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Drivers' Licences.

Minutes:

The Licensing Board considered the report of the Director of Housing and Neighbourhood Services relating to the applications for the grant of hackney carriage / private hire drivers’ licences in respect to Messers. M.H., A.R., M.B.A.M., M.A.M. and M.M.. 

 

Messrs. A.R., M.B.A.M. and M.A.M. attended the meeting and were interviewed by the Board. 

 

Resolved: -  (1)  That the applications in respect of Messrs. M.H. and M.M. be deferred to the August Licensing Board meeting in order to allow the applicants opportunity to attend for interview. 

 

(2)  That the application in respect of Mr. M.B.A.M. be refused. 

 

(3)  That the application in respect of Mr. M.A.M. be granted for a period of twelve months, subject to passing the DSA Driving Test and Medical examination, with a written warning as to his future conduct. 

 

(4)  That the application in respect of Mr. A.R. be granted for a period of three years, subject to passing the DSA Driving Test and Medical examination.
