· Licensing Manager to report. Minutes: Further to Minute No. Q51 of the meeting of the Licensing Board held on 8th January, 2014, consideration was given to a report presented by the Licensing Manager concerning a request from the owner/proprietor of private hire vehicles “AS60 COT Mercedes Benz 250E Class” and “B15 FFS Mercedes Benz 220E Class” for permission not to display the required licence identification plates on these vehicles. This request constituted an exemption to Section 75(c) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1976.
The Board heard that the applicant had had a previous exemption for another vehicle which lapsed when it was sold.
The applicant attended the meeting and was interviewed by the Board.
The Board also gave some consideration to making the requests for exemption time limited and suggested that this be investigated further by Officers.
Resolved:- (1) That the application be approved.
(2) That consideration be given to the implementation of a policy which set timescales relating to requests for individual exemptions to licensed vehicle conditions.

Applications for the Grant/Renewal/Review of Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Drivers' Licences
· Licensing Manager to report. Minutes: Consideration was given to report presented by the Licensing Manager relating to applications for the grant or renewal of hackney carriage/private hire drivers’ licenses in respect of Messrs. S.A., S.H., M.I., P.M., and W.H.
Messrs. S.A., S.H., M.I., P.M., and W.H. attended the meeting and were interviewed by the Board.
Resolved:- (1) That Mesrrs. S.A. and W.H. be granted licences for twelve months and they be issued with a stern warning as to their future conduct.
(2) That Messrs. S.H. and P.M. be granted licences for a period of three years subject to the satisfactory completion of the Driving Standards Agency test and medical.
(3) That the application by Mr. M.I. be refused. |
