The Committee considered a report by the Director of Housing and Neighbourhood Services on the need to update and review the Authority’s formal policy relating to the Licensing Act 2003.  The current statement of Licensing Policy was reviewed in December, 2007.

The draft statement was submitted.

Resolved;-  That officers be authorised to begin the process of consultation on the submitted draft Statement of Licensing Policy with all relevant and appropriate parties.

The Committee considered a report by the Director of Housing and Neighbourhood Services indicating that the Gambling Act 2005 required the Council to prepare and publish a Statement of Licensing Principles before it could carry out any function in respect of applications made under the Act.  The current Statement of Principles needed reviewing and republishing in accordance with the requirements of the Act.

A redrafted Statement was submitted.
