Capital Expenditure on new Residential Homes Accounts

Minutes:

In accordance with Minute No. 86 of the previous meeting held on 28th January 2008, the Director of Health and Wellbeing gave a verbal update on a potential projected overspend for Adult Social Services with regard to the building of two new residential homes.

 

It is currently understood from the Principal Project Manager (Rotherham Construction Partnership) that there is no final figure at this point in time.

 

Potential budget pressures which were presently being investigated related to:-

 

-                       Tripartite agreement re. valuation

-                       Additional sprinklers/smoke vents required

-                       Drainage issues

 

Resolved:-  (1)  That the verbal report be noted.

 

(2)   That the Principal Project Manager (Rotherham Construction Partnership) be asked to attend the next meeting in order to report in more detail on the above matters.

 

(3)   That the Director of Health and Wellbeing write to Ward Councillors (Ward 7: Hoober and Ward 10: Rawmarsh) inviting them to suggest a name for the new home at Rawmarsh.

 

(4)  That the Director of Health and Wellbeing write to Ward Councillors (Ward 4:  Dinnington) and Dinnington Town Council with regard to the suggested name for the new home in Dinnington.

Domiciliary Care - Market Share Split

Minutes:

Councillor Jack reported verbally on a question asked at a recent Councillors’ Surgery with regard to the 65/35 market share split in Adult Services.

 

The Director of Health and Wellbeing explained the present situation with regard to consultation with staff and the timing of more detailed negotiations in order to dispel any misunderstandings.

 

Resolved:-  That the verbal update be noted.
