Market Supplement Arrangements in Relation to the Appointment of the Interim Director of Children's Services

Minutes:

Consideration was given to a report presented by Jacqueline Collins, Director of Legal and Democratic Services, which set out a proposal to pay a salary in excess of £100,000 per annum and a market supplement necessary to attract and retain the Interim Strategic Director of Children and Young People’s Services.

The Committee discussed at length the difficulties associated with securing the right calibre of professional to fulfil this role, the responses received at interview, the reasons for the proposal, indicative agency costs and termination arrangements for temporary contracts.

Recommended:-  That the proposed arrangements in relation to both the payment of a salary in excess of £100,000 per annum and the payment of a market supplement to the salary of the Interim Strategic Director of Children and Young People’s Services be approved.
