Exclusion of the Press and Public

Minutes:

Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (staffing matters)

Equal Pay/Job Evaluation

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report by the Head of Human Resources updating the Members on the latest position regarding the implementation of the outcomes from the job evaluation exercise in accordance with the 2004 Pay Agreement.

 

The report covered equal pay challenges, new pay and grading structure, outstanding issues, proposed changes to Part 3 Terms and Conditions, status of negotiations, timescales, financial implications and implementation proposals including assimilation, pay increases, arrears, protection, progression and allowances.

 

Resolved:- (1) That the information be noted.

 

(2) That support be given to the way forward, as detailed in the report now submitted, including the implementation arrangements and changes to terms and conditions as set out at Appendix 1 to the report.

Local Government Pension Scheme - Consultation on Proposed Changes

Minutes:

The Head of Human Resources reported briefly on the above indicating a consultation deadline of the end of September, 2006.

 

It was noted that reports were being prepared and initial consideration was taking place at next week’s Corporate Management Team,
