Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (staffing matters).

The Chief Executive presented the submitted report relating to the proposed future management of the functions currently within the Corporate Services Directorate following the resignation of the Strategic Director of Corporate Services.

The report covered proposals for Strategic Partnerships, Legal and Democratic Services, Strategic Human Resources, minor reorganisations within the Chief Executive’s Directorate and driving the organisational development agenda of the Council.

Resolved:- (1) That Legal and Democratic Services and Strategic Human Resources functions be transferred to the Chief Executive’s Directorate with effect from 1st April, 2007.

(2) That the Directors of Legal and Democratic Services and Strategic Human Resources be re-designated Assistant Chief Executive.

(3) That the RBT Client function and customer access be transferred to the Financial Services Directorate with effect from 1st April, 2007.

The Committee noted that UNISON was intending to ballot its members for industrial action in respect of the above.
