Martin Beard, Parking Services Manager, to report.

-           to provide an update on the parking enforcement regime at Parkgate Shopping Centre since commencement of patrols.

Consideration was given to a report, presented by the Parking Services Manager, detailing the effect of the parking enforcement regime at Parkgate Shopping Centre since commencement of patrols on 26^th October, 2009.

It was reported that as of 23^rd December, 2009, 132 Penalty Charge Notices had been issued for the following activities:-

• Parking in a designated disabled bay with no valid blue badge.
• Parking on double yellow or double red lines.
• Parking outside the markings of a parking bay.

Also both the Council and Savills (owners of the shopping centre), had received numerous positive comments from members of the public particularly regarding the patrols of bays designated for people with disabilities.

It was noted that Parking Services had maintained its level of patrols in the town centre, as the patrols of the Parkgate shopping centre had been undertaken after 3 pm when fewer Civil Enforcement Officers were required, as parking in the town centre was free.

Resolved:-  That the contents of the report be noted.

Consideration was given to attendance at the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Public Service Excellence on 22^nd January, 2010.

Resolved:- That arrangements be made to book one place at the APSE AGM (Councillor R. S. Russell to attend).
