Approval of Tender for 4 New Build apartments at Stone Park Close, Maltby

Minutes:

The Director of Housing and Neighbourhood Services submitted a report seeking approval to accept a tender for the design and construction of 4 new build apartments at Stone Park Close, Maltby.

The HCA stipulated that construction must begin on site in June 2010, with the total finance being expended by March 2011. Unless the new council houses were built and completed in accordance with the HCA’s timetable there was a risk that the grant would have to be repaid.

Approval was essential in ensuring the Conditions Precedents could be discharged to allow for the drawn down of the first tranche of funding by the 22nd June 2010.  If the grant conditions were not discharged, the funding would need to be repaid preventing the delivery of council housing in Maltby.  Therefore any delay in implementing the decision would seriously prejudice the Council or the public’s interests.

Resolved:- (1) That the tender submitted by T. H. Michaels Construction Ltd.be accepted.

(2) That in the event of Grant Conditions not being met it be noted the funding may have to be repaid.
