The following items are likely to be considered in the absence of the press and public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime).

The Sub-Committee of the Licensing Board considered a report, presented by the Licensing Manager, concerning the following applications for the grant of a promoter’s permit to carry out house-to-house collections:-

Resolved:- (1) That the applications be approved and promoters’ permits be granted in respect of the organisations stated:-

Rotherham Breast Cancer Support Group

Mexborough and District Lions Club

Treating Children With Cancer

Kinkids Support Group

(2) That the following applications for promoters’ permits be refused:-

Be Child Cancer Aware (BCCA)

Coping with Cancer North East CBX

Battersea Dogs’ and Cats’ Home

The Sub-Committee of the Licensing Board considered a report, presented by the Licensing Manager, relating to applications for the grant and review of hackney carriage / private hire drivers’ licences in respect of Messrs. M.Y., W.H., M.I., M.A.H. and M.H. and Mrs. V.R.

Messrs. M.Y., W.H., M.I., M.A.H. and M.H. and Mrs. V.R. all attended the meeting and were interviewed by the Board.

Resolved:- (1) That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. M.Y. be approved and he be granted a licence for three years.

(2) That, further to Minute No. Q12(2) of the meeting of the Licensing Board held on 10th July, 2013, the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. W.H. be refused.

(3) That, further to Minute No. 17(5) of the meeting of the Licensing Board Sub-Committee held on 8th October, 2014, the suspension of the hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mrs. V.R. be lifted and she be issued with a stern written warning as to her future conduct.

(4) That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. M.I. be refused.

(5) That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. M.A.H. be approved and he be granted a licence for six months.

(6) That, further to Minute No. Q19(1) of the meeting of the Licensing Board held on 14th August, 2013, the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. M.H. be refused.
