The following items are likely to be considered in the absence of the press and public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime).

The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Licensing Manager relating to applications for the grant/renewal/review of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licences in respect of Messrs. O.M., M.M., I.M. and A.F.

The application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence for Mr. O.M. was deferred to a future meeting due to an interpreter not being available.

The Trade Union representative for Mr. A.F. had requested that consideration of the application for renewal be deferred to another meeting due to him receiving the papers late from his member. 

Messrs. M.M., M.A. and I.M. were in attendance. 

Resolved:-  (1) That consideration of the grant of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. O.M. be deferred to a future meeting.

(2)  That the application for a hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. M.M. be refused. 

(3)  That the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. M.A. be revoked.

(4)  That the application for the renewal of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. I.M. be refused.

(5)  That consideration of the renewal of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. A.F. be deferred to a future meeting.
