Exclusion of the Press and Public

 

The following items are likely to be considered in the absence of the press and public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Minutes:

Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime).

Applications for the Grant/Renewal/Review of Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Drivers' Licences

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Licensing Manager relating to applications for the grant/review of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licences in respect of Messrs. E.U. F.Z., M.S. and K.H.

 

An adjournment had been requested on behalf of Mr. F.Z. and Mr. M.S. by their union representative due to the seeking of additional legal advice.

 

Mr. E.U. was in attendance at the hearing.

 

Mr. K.H., together with his Trade Union representative, was in attendance at the hearing.

 

Resolved:-  (1)  That consideration of Messrs. F.Z. and M.S. cases be deferred until the next meeting of this Sub-Committee.

 

(2)  That the application for a hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. E.U. be approved.

 

(3)  That the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. K.H. be revoked.

 

(Councillor Pitchley left the meeting and did not participate in the consideration of Mr. K.H.’s case.)
