There were no Declarations of Interest made at the meeting.

The following items are likely to be considered in the absence of the press and public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime).

The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Licensing Manager relating to six applications for the grant/renewal/review of hackney carriage/private hire drivers’ licences in respect of Messrs. V.K., A.A., K.W., D.S., L.F. and J.D.

Messrs. A.A., K.W., D.S., L.F. and J.D. were in attendance at the hearing. 

Mr. V.K. was unable to attend due to being on holiday.

Councillor Brent left the meeting before consideration of  Mr. J.D.’s application.

Resolved:-  (1)  That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. V.K. be deferred to a future meeting.

(2)  That the applications for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire drivers’ licence for Messrs. A.A. and D.S. be approved.

(3)   That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence for Mr. K.W. be deferred to the next meeting in order for him to seek legal advice.

(4)  That the application for the renewal of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence for Mr. L.F. be approved together with a written warning regarding his future conduct/behaviour.

(5)  That Mr. J.D.’s hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence be suspended until successful completion of the advanced driving course.
