The following items are likely to be considered in the absence of the press and public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime).

The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Licensing Manager relating to applications for the grant of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licences in respect of Messrs. S.A.B., L.H. and D.L.Q.

A request had been received from Mr. S.A.B.’s legal representative for an adjournment to allow more time to prepare his client’s case.

Messrs L.H. and D.L.Q. were in attendance at the hearing.

Resolved:-  (1)  That the case of Mr. S.A.B. be deferred to 2^nd September, 2024, meeting.

(2)  That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver licences in respect of Mr. L.H. be approved.

(3)  That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver licences for Mr. D.L.Q. be refused.

Messrs R.S. and K.A. were in attendance at the hearing.
