The following items are likely to be considered in the absence of the press and public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime).

The Sub-Committee considered a report of the Licensing Manager relating to three applications for the grant of hackney carriage/private hire drivers’ licences in respect of Messrs. R.M., M.S. and A.S.

A request had been received from Mr. A.S. that his application be deferred to enable legal advice to be sought.

Messrs. R.M. and M.S. were in attendance at the hearing. 

Resolved:-  (1)  That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. R.M. be approved.

(2)  That the application for the grant of a hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. M.S. be refused.

(3)  That the review of the hackney carriage/private hire driver’s licence in respect of Mr. A.S. be deferred until 12^th January, 2026.
