Exclusion of the Press and Public

 

The following items are likely to be considered in the absence of the press and public as being exempt under the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime)

Minutes:

Resolved:- That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the Police Act 1997 and Paragraphs 3 and 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 (business affairs and prevention of crime).

Application for the Renewal of Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver's Licence

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee, considered a report of the Licensing Manager relating to an application for the renewal of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. U.M.

 

The representative for Mr. U.M., although not present, had submitted an email requesting the hearing be adjourned as the case had been considered previously (July 2020) and queried the impartiality of Members when re-considering the matters before them.

 

The Sub-Committee gave consideration to the request and agreed that the hearing proceed given that, apart from the Chair, none of the Members present had heard the case before.

 

Councillor Ellis vacated the Chair and left the room whilst the application was discussed.

 

Councillor Hughes, Vice-Chair, assumed the Chair.

 

Mr. U.M. was in attendance at the meeting.

 

Resolved:-  That the renewal of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. U.M. be refused.

 

Councillor Hughes vacated the Chair.

 

Councillor Ellis resumed the Chair for the remainder of the meeting.

30.

Application for the Review of Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver's Licence

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee, considered a report of the Licensing Manager relating to an application for the review of the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. A.R.

 

Mr. A.R. was in attendance at the meeting together with Mr. M.A. (supporter).

 

Resolved:-  That the hackney carriage/private hire driver licence in respect of Mr. A.R. be revoked.
