Discussion took place on whether the Council should develop a specific policy in relation to the determination of applications for a promoter’s permit to carry out house-to-house collections.
Resolved:- (1) That, in accordance with the provisions of the House to House Collections Act 1939, the following applications be approved and a promoter’s permit be granted in respect of the organisations/charities shown for the dates listed above:-
Child and Teenage Cancer and Leukaemia Foundation
Treating Children with Cancer
(2) That, in accordance with the provisions of the House to House Collections Act 1939, the following applications for a promoter’s permit be refused:-
Yorkshire Children’s Trust
Coping with Cancer North East
(3) That consideration of the following application for a promoter’s permit be deferred to a future meeting of the Licensing Board Sub-Committee, pending receipt of further information:-
Cancer Support UK
(4) That the Licensing Manager submit a report to a future meeting of the Licensing Board concerning a draft policy in relation to the determination of applications for a promoter’s permit to carry out house-to-house collections.
