Cabinet approval - meeting held on 16 October 2023 (minute number 74 resolution 4).

That Cabinet delegate authority to the Assistant Director of

Housing, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing, the acquire up to 100 homes by 31 March 2026, in line with the Housing Acquisitions Policy and subject to available budget. This was in addition to any acquisitions already approved by Cabinet.

Decision:

39 properties have been acquired under the delegated authority to the Assistant Director of Housing in the period covered by this decision - Quarter 4 of 2024-25 and Quarter 1 of 2025-2026.

Reasons for the Decision:

Each property met the criteria set out in the Housing Acquisitions Policy to add additional housing stock as part of the Housing Delivery Programme.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

The option not to purchase each individual property was considered but all met the acquisitions criteria, including the value for money element. In each case, the decision was therefore taken to proceed.
