|
Title: |
Sunny Lane (part) Waverley - Provision of one way system |
Decision Maker: (Including Job Title) |
Simon Moss Assistant Director, Planning, Regeneration and Transport
|
Specific Delegation: (If any) |
To promote, consider objections to and implement Traffic Regulation Orders under the Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
|
Brief Description of Decision: |
The purpose of this report is to consider a proposal for a one way system on Sunny Lane (part) Waverley, as shown on Appendix A. The key recommendation of the report is to continue with the making of the order. |
Reasons for the Decision: |
Failure to secure the traffic regulation order may result in vehicles in vehicles meeting head on which may affect the free and safe flow of traffic, or collisions on the access road due to restricted carriageway width. The proposed change to the traffic regulation order addresses this. |
Details of alternative options considered and rejected: |
The proposed one way has been derived as part of the overall development of this element of the Waverley Community mixed use development. Doing nothing was considered i.e. no one way restriction, however, due to the narrow width of the proposed access road, a do nothing option could potentially result in two vehicles meeting head on. |
Conflicts of interest declared by any Executive Member consulted by the decision maker which relates to the decision: |
None |
Dispensations Granted: (If any) |
