‘Minutes of the Cabinet Meeting, 25/04/2012 – Minute

C197,Extensions and Adaptations to Foster Carer Property

refers: ‘Resolved:-  (1)  That the report be received and the

contents approved.’’

Under Appendix 9 - Responsibility for Functions the Strategic Director has delegated authority under Section 4C4 of the Constitution to discharge Executive Functions in relation to Looked after Children and Children in Care.

Decision:

Agree Pathway to Care funding request to support additional accommodation for Special Guardian Order (SGO) carers to assist them in offering permanence to their grandchild.

Reasons for the Decision:

The home extension has allowed the child(ren) to be

discharged from care by enabling them to permanently live

with people within the family and friends’ network of the child

who would offer care to that child to either prevent the child

from becoming looked after or to support a child ceasing to

be looked after but for the lack of available bedroom space.
