Decision: |
To implement the following tariff at Forge Island car park:
Additionally, to extend parking concessions to customers of all businesses located within the Forge Island development and that those concessions provide for 4 hours of free parking.
To review the charges after 12 months.
Reasons for the Decision: |
To encourage use of the car park by genuine customers of Forge Island car park and deterring prolific use by non-customers.
Option 1 – Retain the current tariff as per the 2025/26 “fees and charges” decision This was not deemed to be viable because if the current tariff for Forge Island car park were to be reintroduced, it is highly likely that much of the parking capacity would be used by commuters, rather than customers of the businesses.
Option 3 – Offer no further concessions but introduce a new tariff. This option was not deemed to be favourable as the decision was taken to offer concessions to the other businesses.
