Decision:

Approval is granted to include the proposed Festival Road Traffic Regulation Order within the Small Interventions Schemes 2024/25 and the Transport Capital Programme 2024/25.

Reasons for the Decision:

To enable the formalisation of an existing single yellow line through a Traffic Regulation Order, ensuring the restriction is legally enforceable and supports the management of parking pressures associated with nearby school activity. The scheme forms part of the approved Small Interventions Schemes 2024/25.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

Leaving the marking in place without a TRO would:

·       Continue to leave the restriction unenforceable

·       Risk inconsistent or erroneous enforcement

·       Fail to address the original implementation error

·       Provide no improvement to school?related parking issues

For these reasons, the “do nothing” option is not recommended.
