To sign the SYMCA Funding Agreement in relation to the acceptance of the Feasibility Fund under the delegated powers: ‘The implementation of any functions associated with any grant regime, including National Grants, City Region Grants & Programmes and European Funding’ as per the Sub-Scheme of Delegation – Regeneration and Environment.

Brief Description of Decision:

Signing of the grant agreement between Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.

Reasons for the Decision:

Acceptance of the £3m revenue Feasibility Fund to facilitate the development and delivery of Rotherham’s Place Based Investment Strategy (PBIS) by reducing capacity and capability constraints and contributing to the development and delivery of both capital and revenue projects over the next 4 years.

Details of alternative options considered and rejected:

The offer of grant is not accepted, and the Council does not pursue the development of the PBIS and access to the SYMCA’s South Yorkshire Renewal Fund.
