Brief Description of Decision:
Approval of the draft Rotherham Cycling Strategy Delivery Plan for provision of the Council’s cycling and active travel programme of work and improvement schemes. |
Reasons for the Decision:
In January 2022 Cabinet approved the adoption of the Rotherham Cycling Strategy, following which an objective was included in the Council’s “Year Ahead Plan” to finalise a delivery plan for the approved cycling strategy. |
Details of alternative options considered and rejected:
Following the adoption of the Rotherham Cycling Strategy in January 2022 the Council could proceed to delivery of its cycling programmes and investment schemes without a delivery plan. This would still result in achievement of the strategy’s objectives but risks one or more projects falling behind or not being prioritised in a timely manner. This is not the recommended option. |
