Local Authority Domestic Abuse Duty new burdens funding allocations for 2023 to 2024 and 2024 to 2025 were published by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) on 12 December 2022.  On 16th August 2021, the Councils Cabinet agreed allocation of the first year’s funding, with many of those commitments recurring. The officer decision is to approve allocation of the remaining funding.

 

The Council Constitution Appendix 9 Section 4C6 provides that “The Strategic Director of Regeneration and Environment is authorised to discharge executive functions for: 1. Community Safety and Street Scene (a) Community Safety, Resilience and Emergency Planning”

 

Decision:

The approval of Domestic Abuse Duty Funding Proposals for the Financial Year 2023-24 as detailed in the officer’s report.

Reasons for the Decision:

On 12 December 2022, DLUHC confirmed further Domestic Abuse Duty funding for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 financial years of £632,075 and £644,001 respectively. This report sets out proposals for the allocation of this funding in 2023-2024 to support the implementation of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 statutory duty.

N/A - The DLUHC funding is accompanied by guidance on use of the funding which states it ought to be utilised within the parameters determined by the guidance. The plan as set out in this delegated officer decision report meets the grant criteria.
