Details of Specific Cabinet
Delegation
or Delegation contained in the
relevant Sub-Scheme of Delegation.
|
The sub-scheme of delegation
authorises the Assistant Director to promote, consider objections
to and implement Traffic Regulation Orders under the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984.
|
Decision:
|
Approval of the proposal to
introduce no waiting restriction (at any time) at Yearling Chase,
Swinton.
|
Reasons for the
Decision:
|
To enable the implementation of
waiting restrictions at Yearling Chase. The addition of double
yellow lines at this location will remove inappropriate obstructive
parking from the approaches to a busy junction (Golden Smithies
Lane) and supplement the existing restrictions to assist the free
and safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians at that
location.
|
Details of alternative
options considered and rejected:
|
Various lengths of restrictions
were considered. However, after enquiries it appears that the
distance proposed will cover the areas where indiscriminate parking
takes place which currently interfere with safe vehicle manoeuvres
into and out of this side road junction. Making no change was also
considered, but this would not address the concerns raised by
residents.
