We the undersigned petition the council to -Suggesting a reduced speed limit on South Terrace/Delves Lane, in order to minimize incidents (reduced from the current 60mph limit, which many believe to be excessive).
-Introduction of speed bumps to help enforce the proposed reduced speed limit.
-Bringing to attention the large number of children living in the area, and expressing concern for their safety.
-Mentioning the increase in cats being run over by speeding motor vehicles, as well as the inherent distress it is having within our community.
-Possibly the further implementation of CCTV, if required
There has been a recent increase in incidents involving cats
being run over on South Terrace/Delves Lane. For cat owners and
neighbors alike, this is proving to be an ever-increasingly
stressful ordeal and one that many of us believe needs addressing,
especially with the soon-to-come spike in traffic with the new
Gulliver’s around the corner. Additionally, many are
concerned for child safety on this road for the same reasons.
