It is becoming increasingly known that traffic using the B6059 are exceeding the posted 30mph Speed limit, in recent months we have had several instances of vehicles being driven at reckless speeds along the route with notable impact to the crossroads garage where a vehicle being driven at speed crashed into vehicles on the garage lot.
It is also noted that traffic calming measures are already in place for Harthill & Todwick, and side streets in Wales Bar, the B6059 may be a major transport route but it can not be forgotten that this is a route that runs through a village where there is a significant presence of school children, to note there is a primary school next to the one stop, then you have wales bar high school and then you have a day care before the garage and then another primary school on the corner before the bridge over the M1. It is unconscionable to not have appropriate traffic calming in a dense village of school children and elderly persons, it is also unconscionable that the villages of Harthill and Todwick have appropriate traffic calming installed.
I further propose that designated no stopping zones be installed at Kiveton Bridge and no parking or stopping is implemented here to prevent significant traffic issues, it is further requested that the bus stop outside the onestop shop be kept free of all traffic to allow busses to stop safely and without hinderance.
