Closure of Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRC) to allow the new infrastructure to be installed

To close each HWRC to allow new assets and infrastructure to be installed at sites.

As part of the new HWRC contract, Rotherham Council have purchased new assets (such as skips, ramps, plant equipment) to be used by the contractor for the first three years and then used by the Council going forward. Each site will be required to close for one day to allow the current assets to be removed and the new Council assets to be installed safely and correctly. These closure dates will be after the start date of the new contract when HW Martin have taken control of the sites. The sites will be closed on different days to allow residents to retain the use of the remaining three sites. The dates of the site closures are below:

         Warren Vale, Rawmarsh – 30th October 2023

         Magilla, North Anston – 1st November 2023

         Car Hill, Greasbrough – 2nd November 2023

         Lidget Lane, Bramley – 3rd November 2023

There are no other viable alternatives available to allow the exchange of assets for the new contract.
