I was elected a Councillor on 5th May, 2011.
Prior to being elected to Rotherham Council I was a school teacher, initially in Manchester and since 1984 in several Rotherham schools.
I have experience of teaching in every year group and at a school for young people on the Autism spectrum. I have served as a governor at two schools for more than 25 years.
I have studied at Durham, Bristol & Sheffield Hallam Universities and lived in Maltby since 1980.
I am determined to ensure that all children and young people living in Rotherham are kept as safe as possible and that they receive appropriate education enabling them to become happy and productive members of society.
I have two children and three grandchildren.
Working with you to help build communities that we can all take pride in has always been a priority for the Council.
We value the contributions that people make within their local area, through volunteering and getting involved in decision making, to really make a difference for everyone who lives there. By building on the work we've already done together we can continue to find new ways to meet the challenges facing Rotherham.
